It's been a couple months since the last posting to the Northasaurus blog. We've been busy but haven't snapped many pictures unfortunately . We've spent most of our free time as of late just playing around the house or catching shows or dinner at fun places...and of course typically don't snap photos. Such a shame to not have a record of all the changes that occur month to month with our little guy though.
Right now he is super excited to become a big brother in just about 5 more weeks. He sings the alphabet to his baby sister every day and is looking forward to getting to teach her all the fun things that he can do. He counts to 20 (but does skip 13 more often than not) and can recognize all of the letters of the alphabet. He would very much like to be able to read and is constantly asking that every word he sees when we are out and about be read to him, or while we are home that his books be read to him. There are some words that he knows (like "exit" and "north") and others he can sounds out (like "cat")--he's working hard at it. He has little to no interest in writing and will only write letters when forced and does so begrudgingly.
He LOVES super heroes of all kinds. His vast knowledge of random star wars characters has expanded to include members of the DC and Marvel comic book universes. The X-men (in particular Nightcrawler and Wolverine) and Avengers (especially Hawkeye, Panther, Iron man, and Captain America) are favorites. As are Spiderman, Batman, Superman, and the Green Lantern.
Some pictures that we did manage to snap over the past couple of months:
The mall near our house got a Windows store that North has been to a couple times. He like the large flat panel touch screens.
Before seeing "Hugo" in 3d with Grandma and me he posed with the chipmunk figures in the theater lobby.
He's been to a few "Little Gym" birthday parties recently and we thought to snap a few pictures with our phone. The first was Abby's:
Then we went to Baron's a few weeks later:
North always loves getting to hang out with McKenna and Baron!
We also enrolled North in our hospital's "siblings" class -- a class for 3-7 year olds who are about to become big brothers or sisters. North loved it and learned so much about babies and the role he can play as a big brother. He got to tour the hospital and see the kind of room his baby sister and I will be staying in and visit the nursery where his baby sister will be. He also got to "practice" some of the things he will get to do as a big brother with a baby doll.
Posing with his baby doll.
Learning to hold her properly and feed her a bottle.
He loved the course and can't stop talking about everything he learned.
And finally, here's a picture of my little guy today. He LOVES honey crisp apples.
