We heart Sam!!!

Last weekend the amazing and talented Samantha of The Roxy Studio took some North and family photos for us before Gigi and Papa head out of town for the year. She shared a few of those photos with us today which we just love love love.

So wonderful... click here for a slideshow!

We love love love you Sam!

First work of art!

Friday nights aren't quite what they used to be. In by 9, hanging out in the guitar room, Bridgett spending a few minutes blogging about the baby; Alan playing guitar to North. When did we become such parents?...
In addition to the above activities, we have also spent the evening enjoying art.
The first bit of art, provided by none other than our wee little son.
This Friday marks the end of the first week of daycare. One week down, countless more to go. It started out rough (at least for Bridgett--North is much more laid back and never showed distress) but each day it gets easier and we like it more and more.
North's teachers are very sweet and his classmates (ALL girls; 6 little girls and North!) are adorable cheery faced little darlings.
As a souvenir of N's first week we got to take home his first work of art! Cleverly painted with his kicking little feet and decorated with stickers. Hope that you enjoy it as much as we did.

Daycare

Today North started daycare. Finally ran out of our excellent grandmother babysitting resources. 2 weeks with Nana and 2 with Grandma were pretty great.
Much harder on me that he's now in daycare than it is on him I think.
Miss you grandma! Thanks for the pictures from your time watching him!

Fun times getting his diaper changed.

Visiting mama (and Doug and Adam and Jenni and Nana Nancy) at work!

Sleeping alone...

This weekend North moved out of our bedroom and into his own. This meant: North slept fine; Bridgett spent an entire night watching the video monitor.
Every time I would dose off for 2 seconds I would awaken in a blind panic, grab Alan and yell "is he still breathing?!" I'm a bit of a crazy mama it seems.
Hard to deal with one more step in the process of my sweet little baby getting tiny little bits of independence. It's all going so quickly.

Old Settlers

This weekend North got to experience one of the greatest joys of living in Indiana (at least in Bridgett's opinion)--end of summer/early fall small town festivals.
Old settlers has been a favorite of Alan's and mine for a couple of years now. It takes place in the tiny little town of Bowling Green, IN where our great friend Jeremy Clarke lives. We stopped by the festival on Friday and got to watch a bit of the "team pull," in which horses pull various size weights (we rooted for the Milner/Green team of course) and eat a fish fry dinner followed by a funnel cake. Mmm. Fun fun summer days.

Rooting for our favorite horse pull team! Go Milner/Green!

Alan busted on camera carrying North in a very interesting manner.

This is what your windshield looks like....

after a HAWK flies into it.

Ayayay.

Things that hit Bridgett on US70 last week:
Tuesday - a semi's tire as it blew out right next to her.
Thursday - a hawk
Friday - ANOTHER semi tire that AGAIN blew out right next to her (what are the odds?!)

This posting brought to you by the letter B...

Miss you Nana!

Nana took some pictures of North while she was watching him during my first 2 weeks back at work. So cute, I had to share.

By the looks of it, they had a great time together.
Thank you Nana!

She also shared what I think is the first photo ever taken of North. Right after he was born and allowed out of the operating room; when Alan was getting to see him for the first time in the NICU --before I'd even ever seen him. Our parents were looking through the glass and the nurse held North up. We're so grateful to have a copy of this first photo. Thanks again!

Uncle Jeremy

Jeremy is finally home from tour briefly and so North finally got to meet him. Also ride a 4 wheeler. or maybe just pretend to.

It turns out Jeremy and North have so much in common. For example, the ability to make this face:

Another visit with Gigi and Papa!

Fun weekend for North. With his new trick of rolling over, tummy time has become so much more fun. He can roll over from his belly to his back in either direction, depending on where he wants to go and has begun perfecting his technique. It's so exciting for both him and us.
It's been such a fun weekend of playing, visits, and trips out.
We got to go to the drive-in again and North once again played so sweetly before the movies and then feel right to sleep once the movies started.
We also got to visit with Gigi, Papa, Grandma, and Grandpa this weekend and North got to show off his new trick of rolling over. Such fun!

Flexible baby boy!

Rolling Over!

North is rolling over! It's official now. Captured on video and everything.
Belly to back--exciting times!
He actually started doing it on Wednesday but would only do it when we didn't have a camera handy. Today he finally allowed us to capture it on film.

Immunizations...

Bit of a rough day for North. Today he got his 2 month immunizations. There was some screaming. There was some crying. It was short lived though. He's a good boy. Then he got to come to see Nana Nancy and Doug and me at work.

visit!
